July 2016 – January 2017 as reporter at brilio.net (KapanLagi Network) covered a range of feature Read morewriting and travel news in North Sumatra. 

March  2017 – October 2017 as reporter at arah.com dan she.id covered a range of news, education, lifestyle in Jakarta. Full time general assignment reporter and videographer. Fullfilled multifaceted duties that included reporting, news/feature writing, researching, fast-checking, proofreading, and headline/cutline writing. 

October 2017 – 2021 as contributors at Kantor Berita Radio (KBR) covered a range of area news, legal news, economy, education, and natural disasters in North Sumatra. 

January 2020 – now as contributors at merdeka.com coverage a range of area incident, criminal, politics, travel, and culinary in North Sumatra.  

August 2018 – now as contributors at Voice of America (VOA) Indonesia covered a range of area politics, human rights, environment, equality, animal wildlife, and manymore in Sumatra Island.

Albert Ivan Damanik is a journalist with basics who lives in Medan, Indonesia.

Albert has been a journalist photographer since 2010, as a staff photographer for the local daily media. Albert decided to become a freelancer in 2012 and entered video in 2015 by regularly contributing to several Read morenews agencies such as Getty Images, Ruptly TV, AFP Video as a freelance contributor.

Albert has a solo career in Video and Photo Journalism documentary, winning national championships such as Second Place for National Disaster in 2013 and Grand Prize Winner at the 13th Annual Smithsonian Photo Contest in 2015 and Runner Up at the 2017 Gala Awards.

Albert completed his studies at the Department of Communication Studies at one of the Dharma Agung University, in the city of Medan.
