Magdalena Rojo is a freelance journalist covering global issues and human rights from the field, mostly in developing countries. Rojo comes from Slovakia, however, driven by her desire for a fairer world and common understanding, she has traveled countries on four continents. Exploring the world Read morewith an open mind and listening to people with diverse ideas is what makes her feel alive.

Six years ago, she co-founded the long-term, global project Women Who Stay that brings a different perspective on migration – the perspective of women left behind after their male counterparts migrate. She pursues this project together with her husband, a photographer, Noel Rojo.

Within the project, Magdalena and Noel explore slow journalism and anthropology. They spend weeks or months with people they write about in order to understand them and their environment and to gain their trust.

As a journalist fellow for the Spiritual Exemplars Project by the University of Southern California, she followed community leaders who are changing lives. She has been published in international media outlets, such as e.g. News Deeply/TNH, Deutsche Welle, Mongabay, and national media in Slovakia, Czechia, and the U.S. She was nominated for the Slovak Press Award with her reportage about Cuba in 2013.

Alberto Solalinde

Alberto Solalinde is an award-winning film director, cinematographer, video journalist and photojournalist based in Mexico with the possibility to travel anywhere in Mexico or any country.  

He has directed and worked in 3 feature documentaries. He just came back from Nepal after finishing the Read morepreproduction of a documentary in Nepal about the Sherpas and the latest Earthquakes in Nepal. By the beginning of 2016 Solalinde finished working on the edition of "Trial by Fire" (2016) an award-winning documentary that covers a disease called CRPS/RSD, exploring cases of people who have a complex regional pain syndrome with no cure.

Alberto is always ready to film and shoot with his cameras. He has traveled to film or make stories to many countries: Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Trinidad and Tobago, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Nigeria, Nepal, United Arab Emirates and China

Nicolò Filippo Rosso (b.1985) is an Italian documentary photographer living between South, Central, and North America. After graduating with a degree in Literature at the Universitá Degli Studi Di Torino in Italy, he moved to Latin America, living mainly in Colombia for the past ten years.

Since 2018, he has documented the migration movements across the continent for his project Exodus.
Other works include Forgotten in Dust, a project about desertification, coal exploitation, child mortality, and malnutrition among the indigenous Wayuu of La Guajira in Colombia.
In 2021, he received the W. Eugene Smith Memorial Award for Humanistic Photography. Recognitions to his work include the Getty Editorial Grant, World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International, Best of Photojournalism (NPPA), International Photography Award, World Report Award, Premio Ponchielli, Prix ANI-PixTrack.
Rosso is a regular contributor at Bloomberg News, The Washington Post, and The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
He has given lectures about photography and journalism in universities in Colombia, Europe, and the United States.

Stephania Corpi

Stephania Corpi was born in 1984 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She is a Mexican-French journalist who focuses on migration, human rights, gender equality and other under reported issues. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey and after Read moregraduating worked as a reporter and editor at Reporte Indigo for five years covering politics, corruption and violence in Mexico. After moving to Peru in 2013, her freelance work for the past seven years has led her to photograph and report from Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and throughout Central America for outlets such as Washington Post, El Pais, Thomson Reuters Foundation, WPR, The Guardian, Vogue Latin America, and Esquire Spain, among other local media outlets. 

In 2019, she attended the first Summer School at the Reuters Institute at the University of Oxford, where discussions focused on the future of journalism, paywalls, fake news, and AI in Media. She was also selected to attend the workshop “Reporting on refugees and migration through the eyes of children” at the Dart Center at the University of Columbia where she received a scholarship to report on the migration of Nicaraguan migrant children to Costa Rica. She has also received a grant from the Ministry of Culture of Peru Direction of Audiovisual, Phonography and New Media (DAFO) to develop a multimedia platform covering the routes of Venezuelans migrating to Peru.

She’s also a fellow of the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) on the Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice in the Americas Program where she’s currently developing a project. She owns a certifications from Berkley Advanced Media on Podcasting. She’s also currently enrolled at the International Center of Photography on the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism and a recipient of the ICP’s Director Fellowship.
