I graduated from Paramadina University with a degree in International Relations in 2014.

My work experience in journalism began in 2014 when I worked for Cinemagz, an entertainment Read moremagazine focusing on films and TV programs, for about 8 months. After that I worked at the Indonesia News Agency, ANTARA, for about 4 years from 2015 to 2019. I have been working as a reporter for Taiwan Central News Agency’s branch in Jakarta since February 2019. Taiwan Central News Agency of is the national news agency of Taiwan. After that, around 2020 i joined Voice of America (VOA) as a freelance photographer, until April 2024.

I have experience in photography and videography on the ground of reporting breaking news, current events and various issues related to sports, lifestyle, culture, politics, music etc. I am passionate about capturing images to document an event, tell a story or convey a message to the world. I have uploaded some of my work, such as those about the refugees trapped in Indonesia, protests against Indonesia’s Omnibus Law, the inauguration of LRT Jakarta, search operation for the crashed Sriwijaya airplane, the Covid 19 pandemic, etc on my profile. I have a keen interests in journalism and I am skilled in tracking down the right sources, communicating with people and delivering quality news story in photo and video. Among her memorable assignments were covering the plight of young Indonesian boat crew members who were detained in Australian prisons after being deceived by human traffickers as well as the Air Asia flight 8501 crash in late 2014.

Throughout her career, she had interviewed a variety of public figures including Indonesian Presidents Joko Widodo and President Abdurrachman Wahid, Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as well as Chef and TV Personality Bobby Chinn.

She has won several accolades for herself and her programme namely including Australia’s Elizabeth O Neill Award 2011 and Indonesia’s Culture and Tourism Ministry Award for Best Tourism TV program. 

Devianti is a Fulbright scholar and graduated from University of Missouri, USA with a Master of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communications Design from Trisakti University.
