The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Public Health and aligned with the World Health Organisation's efforts, emphasized the importance of preserving antibiotics through proper use and highlighted the dangers of antibiotic resistance, including prolonged illness and increased disease spread. Over 1,000 community members and 500 healthcare professionals committed to the cause during the campaign.

Aster launches Nurture programme in Qatar

The programme was announced by Dr Sameer Moopan, CEO of Aster DMH Qatar, and aims to support women throughout pregnancy until their child reaches five years of age. It offers a range of benefits for healthy pregnancy and delivery at Aster Hospital, Doha, and continues with post-pregnancy care. The programme includes antenatal and maternity packages, classes, counselling, and care led by experienced gynaecologists. Aster DM Healthcare has been operating in Qatar since 2003 and currently runs a 50-bed hospital, medical centres, pharmacies, and a diagnostic centre across the country.

Aster Medical Centre hosts free diabetes awareness event

First Aster hospital in Qatar starts operations

Aster Hospital, part of Aster DM Healthcare, has initiated several services in Qatar, including outpatient and night clinics. The hospital, which will be a 50-bed facility, has received the necessary final approval from the Ministry of Public Health to begin operations. Dr Sameer Moopen, CEO of Aster DM Healthcare in Qatar, highlighted the hospital's features, including three operation theatres, intensive care units, and a 24-hour lab and pharmacy. Senior manager Nikhil Joseph mentioned that the hospital has started night clinic services and will be fully operational with inpatient services in about a month. The hospital offers various surgical specialties, excluding cardiac surgery, and is in the process of integrating medical insurance for inpatient services. The official opening is expected in September.

Aster opens new medical centre

Aster Medical Centre, part of Aster DM Healthcare, has expanded its presence in Qatar with the opening of its seventh medical centre located at Al Gharafa, near the Immigration Office. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ali bin Abdulla bin Ahmed Ali al-Thani, Dr Sameer Moopen, CEO of Aster DM Healthcare – Qatar, along with doctors and other dignitaries. The new facility is equipped to provide a variety of medical services such as General Medicine, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Endocrinology. It also includes a pharmacy, X-ray, and diagnostic services.

The winning trio from BPS

Birla Public School (BPS) won the Aster Kids Brain Quest 2016, an inter-school quiz contest in Qatar, organized by the Indian Women's Association and conducted by quiz master Siddhartha Basu. The BPS all-girl team scored 100 points, beating teams from DPS-MIS and Philippine International School, Qatar. The event, in its 20th edition, featured six teams in the final round and was held at BPS. The quiz covered various topics and current affairs, engaging the audience with interactive questions. The event also included the launch of the Aster Kids program by Aster DM Healthcare Qatar, aimed at holistic student development, and a mentalism show by Aathi. IWA's president, Jotshna Dey, discussed the association's societal contributions. Over 630 students from various schools participated in the preliminary rounds, with the final teams selected based on their scores.

Aster launches road safety campaign
