The environmental impact and logistical challenges behind fast e-commerce deliveries

11 Mar 2024  |  THE LOGISTICS WORLD | Conéctate e inspírate.
The demand for fast e-commerce deliveries has led to significant environmental impacts and logistical challenges that need urgent attention. The transportation of goods accounts for 7% of global CO2 emissions, with Mexico's emissions representing 20% of the national total and growing 50% in the last decade. Traffic congestion and inadequate infrastructure exacerbate these issues. Consumers are encouraged to adopt more sustainable habits, such as choosing longer delivery times, with 65% of Mexican consumers willing to wait longer to reduce environmental impact. Companies must reengineer and optimize their distribution networks, potentially reducing CO2 emissions by up to 30%. Both consumers and companies need to collaborate and take concrete actions to mitigate the negative effects of fast deliveries for a more sustainable future.

Here is an example of a PR campaign for the Tahitian Noni Juice, now Morinda which I lead positioning the noni fruit as the first super fruit and TNI Tahitian Noni International as the first leading brand of juices and supplements in Chile.

Atlético Madrid will go 'to the end' in the Griezmann case

12 Jul 2019  |  espndeportes.espn.com
Atlético Madrid is pursuing legal action and demanding EUR 200 million for Antoine Griezmann's release clause, alleging an agreement with FC Barcelona was made before the clause reduced from EUR 200 to 120 million. Club president Enrique Cerezo confirmed having evidence of the early agreement and expressed disappointment in Griezmann's last-minute notice of departure. Griezmann, who communicated his desire to leave on May 14, was officially announced as a Barcelona player after his legal team deposited EUR 120 million for the release clause. Atlético Madrid is considering taking the case to the Administrative Court of Justice and ordinary legal avenues to claim the difference in the release clause.

Real Madrid starts preseason with Bale at the helm

08 Jul 2019  |  espndeportes.espn.com
Gareth Bale was one of the first to arrive as Real Madrid officially began their preseason, with players undergoing medical examinations before traveling to Montreal for the 2019-20 campaign. Despite pressures from Real Madrid to find an exit, Bale intends to fulfill the remaining three years of his contract. His agent, Jonathan Barnett, has repeatedly stated Bale's intention to stay. Bale's last match was on April 28, and he has faced increasing disapproval from fans. No firm offers have been received for him, despite interest from clubs like Bayern Munich and Manchester United. Real Madrid is considering Bale's departure as essential for both sporting and economic reasons.

Bernabéu Stadium sanctioned for racism

30 May 2014  |  espndeportes.espn.com
UEFA's Control and Discipline Commission sanctioned Champions League winner Real Madrid for racist incidents by fans during the semifinal match against Bayern Munich on April 23. The sanction includes the partial closure of two sectors of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium for the next Champions League match and the display of a 'No to Racism' banner. Real Madrid plans to appeal, arguing that the referee did not report any racist incidents and that the flag in question did not contain Nazi symbols. UEFA has been strict in its 'No to Racism' campaign, sanctioning other clubs and federations for similar offenses. The Ultra Sur group, historically linked to neo-Nazi groups, has caused issues for Real Madrid, leading to attempts to remove them from the stadium.

17 Sep 2013  |  espndeportes.espn.com
Mexican soccer player Carlos Vela expressed his willingness to join the Mexican National Team under the new coach Víctor Manuel Vucetich, despite not having been contacted yet. Vela clarified that his previous refusal to join the team was not due to issues with former coach José Manuel de la Torre but because it was not the right time for him. He emphasized the need for a collective effort to improve the team and withheld judgment on Vucetich's appointment, wishing him success.
