Achraf Hakimi has announced the launch of the Achraf Hakimi Foundation, aimed at empowering children to achieve their full potential. British oil and gas company SDX Energy has renegotiated a gas sales agreement with one of its main clients in Morocco, supported by the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), effective from May 1st. This agreement allows SDX Energy to receive a higher price for its gas production activities in Morocco, which will enable the company to expand its exploration and production activities in the country. Mia Teknoloji, a Turkish company specializing in research and development, innovation, and technology solutions, is set to open a subsidiary in Morocco to serve as a hub for the African continent. The announcement will be made at the GITEX Africa event in Marrakech from May 31 to June 2. Founded in 2006 in Ankara, Mia Teknoloji operates in various sectors including IT, software solutions, energy, cybersecurity, electric mobility, metaverse, health, and safety. The company, listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, has offices in Qatar and the United States since 2020 and counts major Turkish institutions and Siemens among its clients.

Mohamed Benyahya has been appointed as the new Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE), succeeding Said Mouline who is now the head of the Moroccan Agency for Nuclear and Radiological Safety and Security. The appointment was made by King Mohammed VI. The Dakhla wind park project in Morocco is advancing with Chinese company Envision Energy announcing the delivery of 60-megawatt wind turbines for the future power plant. These turbines will power the Dakhla seawater desalination station, marking Morocco's first project of its kind to be fully powered by renewable energy. The wind park and desalination plant, developed by Dakhla Water & Energy Company, a joint venture between Nareva and French group Engie, are expected to be completed in 2025 with a budget of 2 billion dirhams and will provide 37 million cubic meters per year for irrigation and drinking water.
