The Ministry of Health Proceeds to Stop the Marketing of the Product Known as RHB

14 Dec 2016  |  -- Conseil de l'Ordre des Pharmaciens -- Région de Batna
The Algerian Ministry of Health, through its General Directorate of Pharmacy and Equipment (DGPE), has taken action to halt the marketing of a product known as 'RHB'. The decision was communicated in a note dated December 13, instructing health and pharmacy directors across regions to ensure the cessation of RHB's marketing, though the reasons were not specified. The product, which was introduced to the market on November 20 at a price of 1760 DA and is not reimbursable, has been the subject of scrutiny and warnings from various medical and pharmaceutical organizations. These organizations have emphasized the importance of adhering to legal and scientific protocols for therapeutic practices and have warned against the use of RHB until further analysis is completed. The Ministry of Commerce had previously alerted citizens about the product, advising against its purchase pending analysis results. The National Council of the Order of Pharmacists has also issued a statement advising pharmacists to educate diabetic patients on the difference between dietary supplements and pharmaceutical products.
